When NetChange integrates with our IP Address Management (IPAM) solution, its network view is accurate and complete.
Netchange proposes an automatic discovery of infrastructure equipment in order to gather networking device composition and connected devices. All line cards and ports are discovered with their respective technical information like speed, type, VLAN and routing configuration, offering easy troubleshooting of the configuration even for non networking people.
The discovery of all devices connected to network equipment is an indispensable companion to the IPAM which stores what the network should look like. With the ability to compare the repository with the reality, administrators can easily perform remediation actions either on the network itself or on the repository.
By collecting on a regular basis the state and composition of the networking infrastructure and connected devices, NetChange is able to keep track of where a device has been seen on the network over time. This helps find a specific device based on its MAC address, track lateral movement and perform a first level of forensic analysis.
For network equipment able to use virtualization of the network infrastructure, NetChange is able to analyze L3 routing table information contained in the connected VRF(s) and present this information. This feature is useful for MPLS and VPN networks as well as for SD-WAN implementation using virtual routers.

SOLIDserver enables comparison of theoretical IP addresses locations defined in the IPAM part with information discovered by NetChange.
